Man, illuminating's fun. This was a concept from Wouter Gort which I looved for its kinda minimalistic approach to a sci-fi weapon. It has a nice balance between super big shapes (barrel) and more detailed, smaller focal interests (HUD sensor). It makes for a neat composition...Awesome design Wouter; loved making this.

Heya! Had a big lack of updates here because work and life has been keeping me busy, but I should have this gun and possibly a character done by the next month. Been learning a lot of stuff and I'm excited to make some portfolio pieces. Let's get to work!

Allegorithmic - Road Trip 2116 - 9th place!

Okay, here are the final shots! It was definitely rushed, but I'm super happy to have gotten 9th place in the Road Trip contest. Once again, credits to Yoh Yoshinari for sparking the initial idea of this work with his awesome bike sketch in his Deadwood Designs book; I've always been a huge dork of his stuff.

Thanks for stopping by!

Back with a win!

Hey guys, so I just won 9th place in Allegorithmic's latest contest! So proud! The initial idea came from a sketch from Yoh Yoshinari, who had a small pencil sketch of a bike with a horse head very much like this one in his Deadwood Designs book. I learned a lot in this contest, and I'm super honored to have been chosen among the 200+ submissions. If you want to see the progress I made making this bike, you can go to the thread I made in the Allegorithmic forums:

Here's the beauty shot, though I'll be posting more shots during the week (I hope). Cheers!
